Walt Disney World Tip #2311 - Making Magic for Special Cast Members At level 3, you can mark this tip as a favorite! |
This tip was prompted by several other tips that I read on the PassPorter site. Many of the Disney castmembers are not allowed to accept tips. The exceptions being waitstaff, bellhops, mousekeeping, room service, concierge, bar staff, and spa staff. Ride attendants, characters, hostesses, etc are not allowed to accept tips, regardless of how much Magic they make for you. We have printed up a stack of "business cards" with a variety of grateful messages on them ("Thanks for the extra Pixie dust!" "Thank you for making our day magical!" and so on) and our family name and home state. When a 'non-tippable' castmember does something special, we'll give them a card to keep, as well as ask them to write their full name on another card. That way we can send a note to Disney's Guest Communications when we get home letting them know who went above and beyond for us. Everyone likes to get recognition for a job well done and this method gets the special castmember an instant token of our gratitude as well as (hopefully) a pat on the back from their employer.
If you want to recognize a special job or deed done by a castmember, send a note to:
