Last May, we stayed at the Hilton San Diego Resort. The location was great! We were within a mile of Sea World (we could see the nightly fireworks) and within easy highway access to the other sites in San Diego like the Zoo. The hotel also had its own beach front area with walking trails all the way to Sea World. I would say, though, that on the downside, the rooms felt a bit "old" and there was no off-site food within walking distance which we would have liked. The rooms were a bit pricey since it is a "resort" and there was a daily parking fee. It's true that there are a lot of hotels in the area. We chose Hilton because we collect their points.
