I work for an airline and YES, you can take your iPod. If your daughter has it out and visible before takeoff/landing, they will ask to make sure it is turned off. Once they reach a certain altitude, they will make an announcement that is now "OK to use approved electronic devices" and she can then turn it on. Rest assured, it will not be confiscated
