Recent purchase & experience

AKE: Canon
MODEL: S3 IS
# of Megapixels or film size: 6.2
Optical Zoom: 12x
Type of recording media: Compact Flash
Normal recording Mode (jpg, tiff, raw, other): jpg
What do you like most: The flexibility of the scene settings
What do you dislike: Zoom moves **very** quickly
What would you buy if you bought a new camera now: nothing!!

I got this camera last early fall -- and enjoyed taking many shot of the birds in the backyard (including shots of hummingbirds that are, IMHO, remarkable!)

When we ventured in November to D'World, I was not disappointed! I actually have fireworks shots that look like fireworks -- using the nighttime (and not the fireworks) setting, without a tripod -- the image stabilization is great!!

I also appreciate that I do not have a LARGE, HEAVY camera body and LENSES to lug around anymore -- I still have my Canon Rebel 35mm camera -- but don't know how long I will continue to hold onto it.

When I got the camera, there was a deal for a free printer (canon) with it, and I thought -- yeah, right -- but it turns out to be a very nice photo capable printer as well (don't have the specs with me) -- if you are shopping online, look for bundles.
