The peach and apple crops (and some grapes) in North Carolina are also ruined. We have a few trees and vines, but it's only for our consumption, so the loss isn't as great as it is for those who make their living in these crops. Please send pixies to the farmers - this will be a very hard year for them. Hopefully everyone has insurance to cover their losses, but it's still depressing. I heard one orchard owner say this will be the first year in the 25 he's been doing it that he will report a total loss (even including the hurricane years).
