Every trip back to San Diego since we moved away
, we've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express near Sea World and the Sports Arena (now called iPayOne Center). The rooms are decent sized, the hotel is fairly quiet and isn't too spendy.
Last time I was in town I stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown on Pacific Highway. It isn't in too bad a location, easy access to the freeway and right in front of a trolley station. It is also near the USS Midway, Star of India, Maritime Museum and about a mile from the airport. As I remember, we only paid $100/night for the room, and considering the location and the partial from our room (request a room on the front of the building
) I thought that rate to be OUTSTANDING!
