Unhappy Kindergarten Registration

Our appt. is on Monday at the administration building. I know I should be happy that my little boy is big enough for Kindergarten, but this whole process is so stressful. He was behind on his immunizations, but he's caught up after a week of trying to track down his records (his former pediatrician lost his ENTIRE file ) and get him caught up. His birth certificate had a TYPO on it. So I sent away for a duplicate to have the spare so I could send one back with the corrections just in case it didn't get here in time. Good choice I made because the spare still isn't here and the state of PA shut down until the contract negotiations could be finished. When we finally realized the duplicate would never get here in time much less have time to mail it back with corrections, we opted to register him despite the problem with his birth cert. and promise to try to get it corrected by the end of the year. (I did include a copy of my birth cert. with my maiden name on it just to clarify the problem and prove I'm who I say I am. )

Complicating matters is registering for a cyber charter school by mail. He has to be registered in our home district to reroute the funding to the charter school. A friend and teacher in the local district warned us not to mention that we were only registering him so the funding could be rerouted because the school's admins would drag their feet until we had no choice but to send him to public school so he wouldn't miss any days. So now I have to go into this meeting trying not to mention that it doesn't matter that we'll miss orientation while we're on vacation and we don't need to choose a bus stop or meet his teacher. But thank goodness our friend warned us to watch our step and not tell them any more than necessary.

So, 1 physical, 1 dental exam, 2 filled surface cavities, 3 shots, one incorrect birth certificate, and one 30 page enrollment packet down. 2 administrative meetings to go and 1 home cyber school-provided PC to set up.
