We stayed at the desert Inn & suites last August and thought they were just fine. We ate breakfast at Denny's most mornings, unless we were eating at the park. The walk to Disney was shorter than some of the on-site hotels.

The room we had at the Desert Inn was clean and comfy. We only paid $89 per night for the parlor suite, which had a bedroom with 2 beds (queen, i think) and a LR area with a pull out sofa bed (double I think). Each room had a TV and the LR had a minim-fridge. The sink is in the BR, then the toilet & shower/tub is in it's own room. We could see the fireworks nicely from our back window (we were on the 4th floor). I was concerned when we were next to the elevators, but we never heard them and the noise was minimal. I would stay there again.
