| Updated 9/28 Day 1 Part 3 We pulled up to the gate and mom and I asked the guy behind us to help us get our bags down and he was so nice he didn’t have any bags of his own (business traveler) and he helped us carry them off the plane and so we were the first few off the plane and we thanked him. Turns out he knew of my mom from her old job but not directly and so they spent a few minutes catching up while I ran to the ladies room. By the time I came out a few minutes later they were done and he had left so Mom and I headed to baggage claim. We picked up a smart Cart so that we could spend $3 instead of $10 on luggage assistance. We worried about our bags since we checked in so early but the buzzer went off and our bags were the 1st and 2nd bag out and so we were out and about sooner then anyone else! That was Quick! We went to the elevator and headed down to the car rental counter floor and were walking towards Alamo when this guy who was behind us tried to race us to the counter. There was only 1 guy open so luckily I out raced him knowing my way to the counter and the zig zag line so we were signing paperwork long before the 2nd associate opened his counter for “mr. I’minsuchahurryi’llruntheseladiesover” guy got helped so Served him right the way he was trying to push ahead of us!
So since our paperwork was signed we headed over to the garage and over to Alamo’s convertible section and hoped that there were some there or at least not a crossfire like December as that definitely would have been a Luggage problem! When we got to the spaces for convertibles we were relieved they had no crossfire’s, but 3 PT cruisers, 3 VW Bugs, and 1 Seabring Convertible. Well We first chose the red Bug and when the luggage didn’t fit went with the PT cruiser. We chose the closest one to the bug so we wouldn’t have to move the luggage too far. It was silver and we loaded the bags and looked at each other. Why you ask? Well see this is the first trip we have taken where I am a authorized driver. I turned 25 in May and now we won’t have to pay a huge fee just because of my age. So now we had to choose who drove! I should mention that neither of us love to drive we usually bicker and argue at home when we are going somewhere together as to who will drive. Well I lost that set of Rocks paper scissors and took the keys and backed out of the space after having to adjust all the mirrors, the seat, the steering wheel for about 20 minutes Look out Florida and other tourists LOL We handed in the rental agreement and car information and drove out to SR 417 south and got off the exit for International Drive and SR 536/535 and headed over to Publix. Mom ran inside to get soda and seltzer while I waited in the car. I parked and waited for her to come out but I didn’t see her and well she ended up getting angry because she had to stand out there for about 5 minutes OOPS! So after seeing her finally we took off for the hotel and decided to skip Sonic and eat at the hotels food court. We were tired and wanted to relax some before Pleasure Island that night. We headed over to All Star Music our hotel for the night but ran into trouble when we found an intersection right by the OKW lighthouse was being worked on and had to detour all the way around property because we had gone through Downtown Disney instead of just going down 536 into Disney Property. We go there soon enough and I was SOOOOOO excited now that we were finally at the hotel. Up Next…A old classmate, our Room and our First night Monsoon!
