| Day 4 – MK This morning we were up and moving fairly early. After breakfast in the room, we boarded a bus and made it to the Magic Kingdom in time to see the opening ceremony for the first time. I got a stroller and came out to find Ethan picking up the gold castle confetti off the ground. He loves stuff like this for some reason. He got me to stick it in my Baggallini, and we were on our way. Fred stopped to take some pictures of the Halloween decorations. I really loved the way they had Main Street decorated. I had heard that they really didn’t decorate for Halloween, so this was a pleasant surprise. I hope they keep it up. My plan was to hit Fantasyland before the lines got too long. Nicholas, unfortunately, had other plans. He wanted to ride Buzz Lightyear. After arguing with him for a few minutes that it would be better if we did Buzz after Fantasyland, I finally gave in (thinking to myself, anything to get him to shut up about it)! We walked right on Buzz and Nicholas wanted to go again. I let out one of those long-suffering “mom sighs”, seeing my touring plans go down the tubes. We walked on again. However, making the turn into the final room before getting on the ride (where Buzz is), I saw something that had me ready to jump for joy. It was a member of the Dream Team, handing out Dream Fastpasses!! I guess Nicholas was right – but don’t tell him!! I took Ethan on Space Mountain while Fred took Nicholas on Buzz (again). Then we switched the boys and did it again. Nicholas still wanted to ride Buzz, but after four trips in a row, I put my foot down. We told him he could go later. We went on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and then the Speedway – our longest line of the trip so far at 15 or 20 minutes. We did the teacups twice (Nicholas’s idea again) and then decided to get some lunch at Cosmic Ray’s. I really like the choices here, though I don’t like waiting in multiple lines. Sonny Eclipse is a hoot! Next up was Dumbo – unbelievably, under a 5 minute wait – then the carousel, Philharmagic, and Peter Pan. By now we had discovered something interesting. Our Fastpasses weren’t doing us much good. Many rides didn’t even have the fastpass lines open! It was neat to win, though. We hit It’s a Small World and then got something to drink. We took the boys on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and guess what. Nicholas didn’t like it. Sigh. We switched off taking Ethan on Splash Mountain (no fastpass line here, either) since Nicholas wasn’t touching it with a ten foot pole. We went on the Jungle Cruise (a first for Fred and the boys). Nicholas wanted to do the Magic Carpets, and by this time Ethan was hot and miserable. While Fred had Nicholas on the carpets, I really wanted a little treat. Ethan was pouting and wouldn’t walk over to Aloha Isle with me so that I could sample a Dole Whip. So I ran to Sunshine Tree Terrace, since I could see where he was sitting from there. I got an orange slush, and I fell in love. I like orange juice, but frozen orange juice in near 100 degree weather is like manna from heaven. Fred and Nicholas got off the ride, and Nicholas was trying to bogart my drink, so I just HAD to go and get another one (thank you snack credits)!! Nicholas wanted to ride Buzz again (what a surprise). So we headed over there, ran Ethan onto Space Mountain again, and decided that we had had enough for the day. On our way out of the park, we stopped at the Emporium. Back at POFQ, we had dinner at the food court. Then Fred took the boys swimming while I did some laundry. It rained pretty hard this evening, as well. Up next. . .ANOTHER dream (at least for one of us)!
