It’s Almost December?!? Our 1st Anniversary Pre-Trip Report! 12/7-11

So I looked down at my countdown and noticed that our trip is less than 2 weeks away!! Where has the time gone? Needless to say, the last year has flown by for us. My DW and I were married 12/9/06 in Orlando (where we lived at that time). We stayed in the CR, tower room, MK view for 3 nights, which was absolutely wonderful! Then we had a few days “off”, jumped on a plane to continue our honeymoon in the Smoky Mountains in a beautiful mountain view cabin . I’m sorry that I didn’t write a TR then for our honeymoon; with the holidays and us moving back to Tallahassee, FL it totally slipped my mind!

Most of you probably read my previous TR from our trip last October. For those of you who didn’t I have provided the following refresher for your convenience!

Who:
Me, Brett, 28, avid mouse lover. Frequent trips to my happy place over the past many years, owner of all Disney park CDs known to man. Ringtones on cell phone consist of When you Wish Upon a Star, a Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, etc. (I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but I’m confident no one here will make fun of me )
My DW, Jennifer, 24, my much better looking, always cheerful, and equally avid mouse loving wife of almost 1 year! Her attributes include owning nearly every Disney DVD ever made, with a concentration on the classics. I work nights as a paramedic, when I come home there is almost always a Disney DVD in the player on the main menu screen. This week it has been Lady and the Tramp! Jen teaches preschool at a local academy.

Now the plans!!!

When/Where/How:

December 7th through the 11th. Staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort, king room, 4 nights. We did have reservations at the GF, but sadly had to “cut back” due to financial reasons. In doing so, we are saving over 700 dollars Nothing to sneeze at for sure! We will be arriving by car, hoping that the endless traffic and construction has cleared up since our last trip!

Why:
Well…..why not? It’s our anniversary ofcourse! We plan on doing some things we have never done, as well as reliving some moments we had on our honeymoon.

Me being the obsessed planner that I am, I have created the “perfect” itinerary for our trip! The best part is all the revisions are done, its solid, no more changes! Well, I guess you can never say never….so here is the current daily itinerary!!!

Dec 7th

Arrive midday, hopefully, check in around 4:00pm. But knowing us, I’d say 5:00pm will be the actual arrival ADR for Shutters at the CBR a little after 5. Then during the evening, MVMCP! I know a lot of people have suggested to bypass MVMCP on your arrival day, but honestly it’s the only time that will fit with our plans. And according to my wife, there wasn’t ANY way we would miss this!

Dec 8th

Early wake up, breakfast not sure where or what. Then to MK early for the KTTK tour! I made this reservation months ago, and I cannot wait for this tour! After the tour, we will probably head to MGM, mainly to see Fantasmic and the Osborne Lights! Dinner will be late tonight, with an ADR just before 9pm at Citricos at the GF. In the original, original plans, we had an ADR there around 7, but that means we would’ve missed Fantasmic and the Lights, so pushed it back we did!! After dinner, I would really like to hit up a late night arcade! Any good suggestions?

Dec 9th

Our anniversary day!! (can you tell I love the smiley?? LOL) Our plans for today is the AK. We were unable to go here during our last trip, so for our special day, we couldn’t resist! Lunch will hopefully be at Y&Y. No real specific touring plans, besides EE and KS and ITTBAB. Those are our favs
Dinner will be at the CG, ADR for 8:00pm, with plans to watch the MVMCP fireworks at 9:15 We dined here on our honeymoon last year. At that moment we made a promise to come back here for our anniversary! I’m hoping the CG will become a yearly trek for us. We had an unbelievable meal/experience there last year, and the anticipation is already getting to me!! Also, for after dinner, I have a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne that I plan on opening on the beach at CBR!

Dec 10th

Last full day, and ofcourse we will be at Epcot! ADR for lunch at San Angel around 1pm. I plan on waiting as long as it takes to wait in line for a seat at the first showing of the CP, as Steve Curtis Chapman is the narrator! Hopefully I won’t have to wait more than an hour though? I’ve always gotten the CP package, but they were all sold out by the time I tried this year. But the good news is I did score an ADR for Le Cellier around 7:30! After dinner, Illuminations. Then depending how we feel, MK does have EMH that night until 12am. I’m thinking it may be an early night, especially if there is any Dom left in our room!

Dec 12th

Check out and drive home.

I’ll update more soon. Did I make any changes? What did I leave out? What will be firsts for us? Will I wear an anniversary button? Will I have any crazy car parking plans? Those questions answered, and many more....in the near future!

Thank you so much for reading!!!
