I think you are onto something with the song titles from the 30s and 40s.
On wikipedia, they already have a list of hit songs from each year which are probably familar to everyone (-- us boomers, anyway).
Another theme might be buildings from this era -- it might help with trademark issues. How many different meeting tracks and sessions did you have in mind?
I have never been to Mousefest or any _____Con, so I am not familiar with the terminology.
