Candy cane inn - unusual question

We are only spending two days at DL after our DCL Mexican Riviera cruise this summer. I've never been to DL and am really excited about it! We plan to stay offsite as we are trying to keep this portion of our trip on a budget.

O.K., I've been reading all I can and know people love CCI. My question may be an odd one for most of you! I'm a little worried CCI may not be for me. I'm not a quilt on the bed kind of gal (don't care for whimsy and country type theming). I like things contemporary. I have a wall painted purple that runs from my living room to my kitchen. I KNOW that wouldn't be the decorating style for most, ha! Ex., I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but in WDW, I didn't like Port Orleans riverside (old dixie landings). I felt like I was walking through a swamp to get to the food court/bus stops. I loved Carribean Beach Resort though, with tropical feeling. I loved the Contemporary. Grand Floridian isn't my style, too victorian or something I guess. I think it's pretty, but not my decorating style. Hope I'm explaining this well enough. I'm not trying to knock resorts, just trying to give you a feel for my style. Maybe I'm getting the wrong impression of the CCI though. Please correct me if I have the wrong impression. I'd really like to stay here if I'm wrong. So many people rave about it.

I can get CCI, Carousel Inn and dessert inn for around the same price and thought I might as well chose one I would like. Granted we won't be in the room much. Would I be better off staying at Carousel Inn? I looked at the pictures of the breakfast area with all the glass and I liked the look of that. I've also been trying to read about desert inn, too. I like the idea of being close to the parks like these two are. They seem affordable, too. Our first day won't even be a full day, so don't want to spend a lot of time getting to the parks.

Any help would be appreciated.
