birthday celebration

I am taking my daughter to DW for her birthday. We can't go on her exact birthday it will be a little more than a month later. But the trip is her birthday celebration. Does anyone know if it would be considered bad ettiquette to request a birthday button at the parks and let resturants, etc. know that this trip is for her birthday. (to make it a little more special for her)? I have read elsewhere that this is acceptable and I asked the travel agent everyone seems to think it is okay. I just need more opionions
Thank you, Sandi
