12/14
DH and I woke up at 6am to get ready to head to MGM/DHS. We ate breakfast in our room, and were at the bus station around 7:30am. We arrived at MGM/DHS by 7:50am. We talked to a young CM at the gates about Star Wars, and later DH mentioned the CM didn't know much about Star Wars and listed a bunch of errors of what the CM said. (I know; my DH is a Star Wars geek! DH is like the Comic Book Guy on the Simpsons, except younger, skinner, and my DH has been with a woman. LOL) We talked to another CM who helped pass the time by and he was hysterical!
When the park opened, I grabbed FPs for RnRc and we both rode RnRc first. The wait was about 5-10 minutes. Afterwards, we went over to ToT and during the pre show the Dream Squad was there and we won Ultimate Dream FPs! Afterwards, I grabbed another FP for ToT. DH was hungry so he grabbed some cereal. After breakfast, we decided to ride TGBMR. There was only a 5 minute wait. Then we went on ST, and checked out M3D. We walked through the Streets of America a bit, and started to get hungry so we went over to 50's PTC to see if they would accept us in early for our ADR. Our ADR was for 11:50am, but since it was aroundd 10:45am-11am, I thought it would hurt to see if we could check in early...and sure enough we were able to while waiting less then five minutes. We had a large table to ourselves, but our CM/Aunt wasn't in the mood to be in character. I've been pining to eat my fried chicken, since our last visit in 2003. That's all I could think about on this trip. When I ordered it the breading looked and tasted different. It tasted less "southern." I was so diasppointed. It wasn't the worst meal I had, but it was a let down. We also ordered a dessert: smores. Though, I didn't take any pictures of the food itself.
After lunch, we decided to use one of our FPs for Indiana Jones. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated. While DH trying to change tapes, the video camera wouldn't work!!! It kept on rejecting the tape. (For some reason this was the only time the camera did that to us. ) And unfortuately because the camera wasn't working all day; we couldn't record the Indiana Stunt Show, or the Osborne Lights.
After Indiana, we checked out One Man's Dream and used our FPs for RnRc and ToT. From there, we decided to check out the LMA! After what seems like an eternity to walk through the area with the herd of people, the show was a huge disappointment. From there, we decided see if we could arrive to our ADR early (our ADR was for 5:30pm at Sci Fi Dine Inn), and it was around 4:50-5pm. We were able to check in, and within five minutes we were seated. We sat in the front of the car, and had a good view of the movies. DH and I just ordered burgers. And their burgers were delicous! They weren't on the menu for dinner, but you can ask the CM for them and they cost around $11. Our burgers were very good. In fact, I thought they were the best burgers on property.
Afterwards, we checked out Osborne Lights for a bit, then decided to start using our FPs before the night was over. So while people were waiting in 60-80 minute rides, we were zipping by through the FP lanes. We rode RnRc and ToT twice because of the extra FP's we had. Afterwards, we tried to go on ST by using our FPs but at this point, they weren't accepting FPs but said the lines were short--not exactly--the line was more 25+ minute line...we weren't willing to wait that long. So we checked out the ST gift shop for a bit. Around 7:45pm we decided to check out the Osborne Lights. It was still crowded, but more managable then it was earlier. We were in SOA for about an hour from waiting in the 5-15 minute lines for the PP, and exploring every street and lights you can encounter. It was 8:30pm and we decided to head home. We were able to beat the Fantasia! crowds.
