| Yep, we saw the 2:28 am launch. I wasn't going to venture out but the whole neighborhood came to life around 2:10am with people walking out to the beach. We walked out to the beach around 2:20 and the launch was spectacular! Lit up the whole sky. It was realyl weird, too see all the people out on the beach at 2 in the morning but the weather was perfect and wonderful and the launch was great! Night launches are better. No pictures though... the whole sky was lit up for about 20 seconds then the shuttle went behind the clouds and that was it.....
Now, we didn't know about the Delta 2 Rocket being launched from the Cape Air Force Base but it woke us out of a dead sleep (again at 2am). You felt the force of it and it was quite like a California earthquake in central Florida! |
