Love PL for Anaheim! Be sure and check out biddingfortravel.com before you bid. We've been using PL for hotels in Anaheim for years and only one bad hotel, when I bid less than 3 stars. NEVER go less than 3 stars! We only bid Disneyland Area, as well.
We've stayed at Crowne Plaza, the Coast Hotel, now a Sheraton, Hyatt Regency OC, Anaheim Hilton, Anaheim Marriot, Doubletree Hotel-the farthest. You have to see what the going rate for the hotels are, then bid accordingly. I'm cheap, so I start at about 1/3. They I increase every 3 days, depending on how long I have and how desperately I need the room. LOL. Biddingfor travel goes over all of the finer points of bidding.
Just turned a coworker on to PL and she's been going almost every month with her AP and 2 girls.
All of the hotels either have a shuttle or are on the ART system. With the money we save, we usually take a cab. LOL
