| Because the resort doesn't get the reservation information from the main computer until 5 days or so before you're scheduled to check in, it shouldn't matter how early you get your requests into your reservation -- just do it so that it's there about a week before you check in.
I also like to send a cheery, appreciative fax addressed to the resort's Room Assigner about 5-6 days before check in.
But, when I haven't had time to send a fax, I still have had good luck getting a room I like just based on the three items they can enter into the reservation on the main computer. Plus, if I don't like the room location the check-in CM shows me, I will ask to see if there is anything that more closely matches my needs. Unless the resort is very booked up, I can usually get what I want.
