Day 6, continued....

We originally had reservations at a pub that was a short drive away, but we were too far away to make the time, and besides, they were rude to Mark on the phone when he called! So we decided to walk through town and head to a pub on the other side of the Windsor Bridge.

A few pictures on the way:
The swans:

Windsor Bridge:

Keep WELL to the right!

The pub was called "The George Inn", and it did not disappoint! :

We were seated right away, it was actually empty! The specials were written on a chalk board above the fireplace:

Steve ordered water, and we asked for a pitcher of tap water. In England, you must distinguish between still water and sparkling water, and request tap water when you want just a regular glass of water. Yet another lesson learned!

We ordered drinks. Steve got a Guinness, Cheryl had wine, and Mark and I had shandies! And, yes, Angie, I thought of you while I had my shandy!
A pint:

Cheers:

What? You think a first class girl can't drink?

Lunch was incredible! The guys had lamb shank:

Chez had seafood pasta:

And I had a steak and mushroom pie:

Dessert:

I am full!!!

Stuffed, we left Windsor and headed down to Eton. Eton College is not a college in the American sense, it is more of an exclusive prep school for the rich and famous. And it is a boy's only school!

The architecture, like everywhere in the UK, was exquisite. I had so many photo ops I could have shot all day!

We left Eton and headed back to Maidstone. We dropped the guys off at home (Steve was kind of beat, still not feeling 100%) and Cheryl and I headed out to Tesco for dinner. We picked up cheese and a few other goodies, and I got a pasta and meat dish for Steve. We had a relaxing dinner in, the guys split the pasta and Chez and I were content to snack after that huge lunch. It was a fun night, I got to see more scrapbooks! and we were in bed early. Tomorrow was a big day. We were headed to Paris!

Next...."I believe everything Mark tells me, including the tunnel fish", the Eiffel tower and a few more "Awwwwwww" moments!
