Have to second Priceline! We'll be staying at Crowne Plaza this month for $60 a night! Bid 3* or higher only, and bid only in the Disneyland area. Check out biddingfortravel.com for faq.
Discounts at the Disney resorts are fewer and farther between as they have been in the past, and I prefer a hotel/resort to a motel, so Priceline works for us.
Also, beware, many of the motels in the area state that they are directly across from DLR or within walking distance, and many of those are not. Check out a map if you are not sure. The hotels all have shuttles or are on the ART system, so getting to/from is easy and convenient. Once in a while, we take a cab for convenience, i.e. dead weight sleeping toddler, and it's around $8-10. Not a problem when we are saving so much on our room, and a nice one to boot! HTH
