My only venture with chipboard so far is a small album I made for my niece and nephew and that was part of a kit with detailed instructions (mainly painting pages of the book to match the papers in the kit). |
Those are little epoxy letters that I bought at JoAnn a long time ago. I'm trying really hard to use up the embellishments I have vs. buying new things! I did have to buy the dolpin embellishments though. I looked at JoAnn and Michaels's and could find nothing and finally broke down and went to Archiever's. They were a hot spot item though and I had a coupon for a free hot spot item, so I didn't have to pay anything for them, ha! I bought an album and a couple of other little hot spot things, had a 3.00 off anything coupon, the free paper coupon, and had a 30% off coupon I used for a 12 X 12 ring album (can't find those many places anymore), and another coupon I can't think of. My bill of a little over 30.00 was less than half the amount-so saved more in coupons than my total price. The saleslady said she'd never seen such good use of coupons!
I've had these chipboard pieces in a set I bought over a year ago!! I've never painted chipboard before. I've used one item from the set, but inked it. The painting really wasn't that hard and I just used some old t-shirt paint that I had on hand and used a little sponge I had. Probably not acid free paint, but it's not next to any photos so I should be o.k. I thought it would be more time consuming but it wasn't. I'd do it again.
