I haven't personally stayed at that hotel, but usually, if it is a Good Neighbor hotel, they must be doing something right to be recommended by Disney.
As Don mentioned, the shuttle is more than likely the Anaheim Resort Transit shuttle (ART). You can purchase a one, two, three or five day pass . . . the prices are:
One-day = $3
Two-day = $6
Three- day = $8
Five-day = $12
If you know how many days worth of shuttle usage you will need before you go on your rip, you can actually order the passes online.

(You can also find "kiosk" machines at certain hotels where you can buy the one, two and five day passes) Or, as Don also mentioned, you can purchase them from your hotel (since it seems the Motel 6 is an ART participating hotel.

)
It is true that you can't buy the passes on the bus . . . if you board without a pass, you must pay the driver exact change of $3 PER RIDE. It is a far better deal to have the all day passes.
I believe the buses start running at 7am and stop running at midnight.
Here's the link to the ART website for you!
