Yes, you definitely should call member services to have them note it on your reservation. We recently stayed at SSR, and called DVC member services 2 weeks prior and had them note my building and view request - we did get the section we requested and "sort" of the view we asked for. I haven't yet stayed at AKV (I may be able to offer advice at the end of August
) or at OKW so no room request advice to give! Have a great time.
