| We just got back from DL a couple days ago and we stayed at DLH and the whole trip was awesome. We have been to WDW many times, so it was a great change and there are a lot of things to like. But, I will say the Monorail was not smooth or efficient at all. We were in the Dreams tower at DLH, and we were able to walk from the hotel into DL and to Carnation Cafe in 13 minutes. Me and two kids (6 and 9). We had one smooth monorail transition, only one. Often, there would be just one train running, with the other ones being 'tested', pulling up empty and leaving empty. And often we waited for 25 minutes and would give up and walk it. One time we sat there with the train full of passengers just loaded, we had to wait for that train to leave and come back (10 minute loop or so)...but it sat there for 15 minutes...loaded with people waiting to go to DL. They said it was in a holding pattern. I would say hands down it was the most frustrating part of the trip. We ended up leaving. It seems pointless to wait when we can walk it in under 15 minutes. Also, it takes about 3 minutes to get from the hotel(Dreams Tower) to the station in DTD, IMO very close.
Last, one time we had about 2 hrs and 15 monutes to go back to the hotel from DL and rest and then go to dinner at CA. We went to catch the monorail in the park and ate up 45 min of our free time just waiting for it to take us to DTD. It just wasn't efficient. I think it would be awesome with more than one train running though.
