| Unfortunately, a lot of WDW travellers are used to the monorail being a mode of transportation. While the DLR monorail can be used as transportation, it is (as others have noted) more of an attraction. We might take the monorail from Tomorrowland to get to DTD if we are going to DLH, but only if there's not a line, since we know that it doesn't save any time, just the walking. Most of the time, we only take it so the kids can go on it.
But since a lot of people are used to it as a means to get from A to B, and have a certain expectation, they are ultimately disappointed in the experience. I try to think of it like the train in the park....yeah you can take it to get somewhere, but that's not the point of its existence. That saves me from getting frustrated about it.
