Christie, is your Pack doing the Scouting for Food Drive this week? You haven't mentioned it, but I thought all Packs across the U.S. were Scouting for Food today and next Saturday.

(Elective 11: 'Helping the Needy' for Tiger Cubs. We also use it as an opportunity to fulfill other requirements - 'looking at a map of the community' as we divvy up the wards we're assigned to in town and 'going outside and watching the weather with an adult partner'.)
We're also doing a coat and clothing drive as our den service project.

It's Seeds of Kindness Month here in the Slate Belt.

Next week, we're wrapping up the Scouting for Food Drive and we're going to learn about shelter and rescue animals and have a special guest - my friend is bringing her rescued pitbull-beagle mix, Hank, to meet the kids. He's come to DJ's t-ball games and went trick-or-treating with us. No dog has ever been so good with kids in my experience. He's awesome.
He was rescued from a dog-fighting ring where they used him as practice and bait for the actual fighting dogs because he was too sweet-natured to train to fight. Horrible situation - amazing dog. So he's coming to meet the kids as our local ambassador for rescue animals.
