We stayed in a Standard View Studio for three nights December 2-5. There were 2 adults, no children on this trip. I found the room EXCEPTIONALLY clean! ONE surprise was the newspaper outside the door everyday. We were not expecting this, and though it was a nice surprise, we really did not have time to sit and read the paper. The view we had was overlooking the pool. Though it was not a savannah view room, I was very pleased. It was relaxing and a very pleasant view, especially in the early morning. Perhaps due to the time of year, we were never bothered by noise and there were times when people were using the pool. Here are a couple views from our room:
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The store was full of lots of great stuff but I found the layout a bit difficult and it was often busy and felt there could have been more staff on duty every time we were in there. We sat in the lounge one night for a drink which was ok. I give it average marks, but I don't go to lounges very often, so I don't have much to compare it to. My biggest problem I had with the lounge was the seating was made for giants! I am short and none of the seating in there was comfortable for a short person!
We found several areas to look at the savannah and never felt like having the standard view detracted from our stay! The only complaint I have over all is the bit of confusion with the lay out of the entire resort. It takes a bit of getting used to and having stayed such a short time, by the time I figured out how to get from our room to where we needed to go (for example Mara - I'd get lost every time!) it was time to go home! No fault of AKV, I'm just directionally challenged!
Overall I give the resort an A! I will definitely stay here again!
