I think your stuff...baggage...issues...unresoved conflicts...whatever you want to call it can really clog your intuition antennae. I think that is why I believe it is so important to be self-aware and ruthlessly honest with yourself. | Actually in my situation is was definitely baggage - my dad was in a horrible farm accident as a child and was missing most of his right hand and some of the fingers on his left. As his daughter I never even noticed it until playmates commented on it after I started school. This experience has made me overly defensive of those with similar disabilities. I am sure that life experience played a role in coloring my perspective. Self Awareness can obviously be a key to honing these unconscious skills - I'm eager to see what the author's perspective is on this.
