| Are you talking about the river rapids or the wave pool? There are many sized life jackets available. I used a life jacket for the fast moving river rapids, it was easier to float, and made it more fun IMO. I think it's a good idea for your daughter to wear a jacket for both the river rapids and wave pool. Don't think she will be dragged under.
If you plan on being there all day, it's worth it to get the all day ticket to Banana Cabana buffet. First thing in the morning they have breakfast stuff, coffee, juice, muffins, fruit, etc then they change to burgers, hot dogs, etc. and you can get drinks all day long. Esp good in the Florida heat.
