I'm hoping maybe we can do the geisha tour this time... there is also another tour I've found that got my interest:
the Kyoto Maiko tour. OK, so it's not cheap - about £67 by today's exchange rate and that's about double the price of the tour we were looking at, but it's another option. By the way, that website was invaluable to me in planning our visit last time. It's got so many hotels and tours on it, much more than you find on places like Expedia.
