| What is it - basically you are buying your dinner for the evening. You have a choice of 3 restaurants - Brown Derby, Mama Melrose, or Hollywood & Vine. The first two you will choose particular items from the menu for a set price. The third is a buffet and the times we have done it, it was the same price as their regular buffet without the FDP. So in this instance, yes it's worth it. You're not paying anything for seating at the show. They just simply hold open a certain section of the theater for those who booked the package.
As to whether it's worth it from a time standpoint, I can't answer since they've changed the procedure since our trip last summer. It should cut down on your wait somewhat, but you'll also have to be inside the theater for a long time before the show starts. After a certain point, they open up the reserved seating section to the general public, so you have to get there early enough to get a seat.
Basically, you could go ahead and book the package just like any ADR. Then, just try out the current procedure for entering the theater - if the crowds are too much for your son to handle, you haven't really lost anything. Worst case scenario, one of you could stay with the other kids while the other takes your little one elsewhere, and meet up after the show. |
