Yes, you are quite correct. It is indeed the dock area where the boats make the trip back and forth across the lake.
Hope you enjoyed the Illuminations as much as we did.
We also saw the Tapestry of Dreams parade that evening at Epcot. I assume that you saw the parade as well.
