| I stayed at ASM on my third trip to Disney with my boys, my second alone as a single mom. I had stayed at Pop on my last trip but it was booked. I did get a great rate, but perhaps because of this I was sent off into the wild blue yonder as far as room placement went. It was at least a 15 min walk to our room from the food court and front bus stop area. I was having an issue with my foot on this trip after I arrived at Disney. I dont know if I twisted it, or the heat, but it swelled up to the point I could not wear a shoe. I asked to be moved to a room closer to the front and had no success, and didnt find the front desk to be very kind about the situation. Basicly you get what you pay for seemed to be the CM's attitude. I was surprised at the lack of usually Disney service quality. I tried to use a wheelchair one day and that was useless with my two boys, although they were troopers and tried to help me as much as possible. I ended up renting the scooter everday at the parks, and spent a fortune, but it was that or not being able to get around the parks. The hotel seemed old, and in need of updating, felt dated and low quality motel - ish. It was a step down from Pop that was for sure. And the rooms didnt seem clean even when they were cleaned by staff. Again, just dated and well used I guess. If I cant stay at Pop then I dont think I would stay at the value resort again, I think I would try off property for the same price as now there are many off property locations with access to the parks and down town disney for the same price point and maybe better ammenities. I am staying at CBR this time, my first Moderate Rate Disney hotel, and very excited. Hoping that it will be a better experience.
