| Re: Sun,Fun and Mickey Mouse Our 2 week vacation Feb 12: Breakfast With the Princesses
DH and I awoke early (I can never sleep in at Disney World) DH headed to the Boardwalk to work out. They just scanned his resort card and he had access for the rest of the week. And it was only Magical Wish, not two like we'd been told. He really liked the club and even though it was not that big he was pleased to find it was never crowded.
I knew we would be missing EE today because DD needed to sleep in. So once she finally woke up we headed to EP to enjoy the PSB in Norway. At the entrance we took our first of the four park pictures. Some of those photographers are a little pushy. On subsequent trips to the parks we had already purchased our photo at I would politely tell the photographers we already had one, "Not from me" was always the response. Do they work on comission or something?
The crowds were very light. We headed to WS to take some pictures and check in for our PS. Our PS was for 10:00 am and we checked in about five minutes early. We were given one of the pagers and told it wouldn't be too long. While we waited my daughter cleaned us out of pennies making wishes in the waterfall. We didn't mind waiting as the weather was beautiful. It was quickly approaching 70 and there was not a cloud in the sky.
We were seated at about 10:15. This was our first time in Restaurant Akershus and we thought it was beautiful. It reminds me of CRT, with its' high ceilings and etched windows. Our table already had a serving tower on it loaded with fruit, pastries and yougurt. We had a wonderful server named, Helle. She came over immediately with water, oj and coffee. She explained the food we would be served and it arrived soon after that. We had waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs and potatoes. The food was fresh, warm and very good. Our DD wanted more strawberries and Helle brought her a huge bowl of them. We had yet to see any of the princesses and the restaurant was filling up fast. Just as we were finishing up our food we saw Pocohantas appear at the other end of the restaurant. She reached our table about one hour after we had first been seated. She was beautiful and very sweet. I had brought along DD's Princess Valentine's, I wrote the character's name on the valentine with their picture on it and signed my daughter's name on them. She gave one to each princess. This turned out to be really special. All the princesses knew her name. In fact we saw some of the princesses again and they remembered her name even days later(but more on that later of course) Also the characters seemed to really like it. They all made such a fuss over their valentines and tucked them safely away in their costumes (except Belle, she very discreetly put hers down her dress) Next we were visited by Aurora and Mary Poppins. But by this time my daughter had caught sight of Belle (her favorite) she just stood there staring at her, clutching her Belle valentine to present to her. When Belle came over she was wonderful, she picked my DD up and told her a story about the Beast. DD just loved it Next we had Snow White. Our DD waited patiently for her to come to our table. She stood behind Snow White with her little arm outstretched, holding her Snow White valentine. It was so adorable. Our last character was Alice. Each princess spent a good amount of time with my DD, I never felt they were rushing to get to the next table. And they were all wonderful with her, picking her up and holding her. When all the princesses had come to our table DD was quite sad. She would run up to other people's tables and just gaze at the princesses. Overall, we really enjoyed the PSB, even with the long wait to see the princesses. The table next to us left- we couldn't believe it. We used 2 Magical Wishes to pay for our breakfast, the total came to $43.22 with tip, but we gave her a little extra. Up next: Around the World in 2 Hours and DD Speaks French |
