Re: 1999 Weekend Adventure - Final Day Added!

Well, friends here is the last installment of the aptly entitled 1999 Weekend Adventure. DH is going to scan pictures Monday at the office and I will let you know when they are up....

DAY 4:

We had told our families we would be home by late afternoon so we felt like we should take the morning and spend a little more time before departing.

Breakfast again at the All Star Moviess Food Court and after check out (which was quick and painless, unlike check in- of course that's my luck!) and loaded up the car. It suddenly occured to me that we had not taken a real tour of the resort and we decided to stroll over to the Toy Story courtyard- we stopped at the playground to let the boys enjoy that- and they did!! We made our way over to the giant Woody, Buzz and gang. It was alot of fun in itself and since I had pretty much singles and change left in my wallet- the "free" part of the activity appealed to me too!!

Trying to get one last dose of magic elsewhere, Chrissie suggested another ride on the monorail- so we drove to the Contemporary and decided to browse their shops. Well, of course the singles and change in my pocket were calling out to me very loudly (even though they weren't going to get me much) but boy, the Amex was screaming. (I do not use credit cards except in a dire emergency- so this one time, I justified it as such ) I did more shopping at the Contemporary than I did the whole trip!

We waited in the monorail line and I wanted to make this send off as special as I could so I asked the CM in the loading area about a ride in the front cab- which we got. The boys were absolutely thrilled and the driver was very friendly, especially to Chrissie, who seems to stop males in their tracks.

About 12:00 pm, we were in the car, and on the Turnpike headed north. We spent the whole 4 hours home sharing our favorite moments.

Most Important Lesson Learned: After that last minute trip on the monorail, I learned that making memories with kids is done in ways you least expect it. I didn't give much thought to that ride at all but 4 years later, Kevin is still talking about it.

Another Important Lesson Learned: A nicely presented commemorative book on WDW can do alot to ease the trauma of presenting DH with the AmEx bill.

Another great trip in our family's history book.

Thanks for reading!!
