| Re: Some Q\'s About The Grand Californian ?? Yes, you did hear about the DD view from me. I was very pleasantly surprised by the view. I expected it to be a cost-related compromise (it is one of the cheaper views), but it really was quite delightful. It wasn't noisy at all (not a sound with the door closed, and little more when opened), the view of DD itself was colorful and attractive, and the fireworks really capped things off. We had a great view of the fireworks, although it was a side view, rather than the view folks would normally see from Main St. Our room was roughly opposite the Matterhorn, but that was one of the only park features we could see poking above the buildings and concealment screens across the way.
Every view we experienced from the Grand Californian was attractive (we visited rooms with DCA and various courtyard views, too), so I suggest you select the view that most appeals to you and fits your budget.
Personally, I'd say the best view of Paradise Pier is from the Paradise Pier Hotel. We had a room facing the park on a high floor, and we were totally captivated by it, especially at night. Although the Southern California haze tended to get in the way, we had a passable view of Disneyland, too. |
