Now... if nothing for 3 is available, you could take a chance and book it for two, but show up to the restaurant and tell them you have the baby, and they will work around it as best they can to find you an appropriate table. Just be polite, show up early, and be patient while they work it out, you might just get lucky.
My cousin traveled with a very young baby and she wore her in a sling but they said she still needed to count the baby in the reservation for fire codes reasons. But, like Eileen said, they are usually very accommodating so just be polite and arrive early and most times they can shift things around for you.
