I have friends who have rented prior to purchasing and the rates depended on how close to trip and use year for "deals" $10 & $8.00 are figures I've seen. I've noticed Ebay rentals but caution you to look closely there as most of the rates are much higher and you need to read the fine print. Also make sure that you understand rental agreements and cancellation policies. I do not know anyone who has had an issue renting. I have read issues where people have had issues being the rentor (bounced checks, no follow up by renter etc). Good Luck!
