I always did park hoppers, but the last few times I have gone, I enjoyed NOT having them. It made me stop and smell the roses at the park I was in, and not worry about jumping here or there. I would also stick with the idea of counter service but being the time of year you are going is less crowded, don't hesitate to try to walk up to a table service restaurant. On my last solo trip, I found that counter service was still pricey and I would have rather spent and extra 10 or 15 bucks to have better tasting, bigger portioned meals after all that walking and not have to hassle with sitting outside. I wasn't thrilled with any of my counter service meals...it was exactly what you would expect from theme park food if you ask me, and $15 for an entree and a soda with no extras isn't exactly a value in my book. It WAS nice not to have to worry about reservations being met though. Another thing I loved was not feeling like I HAD to stay at the park from open to close which I usually do. Leaving early and going back to my room for a little reading and napping made me feel like I really WAS on vacation. In all my trips I had never ever enjoyed that luxury. Have a blast!
