Day 4, Part I, Boma
After dreaming all night about the Epcot country that cultivated the foot massage (why don’t they have those there??) I woke up with my belly muscles actually feeling sore from the incessant sneezing from my first two mornings (I had allergies, but luckily each day they crept away by mid-morning.) It was 8-ish and we had 10:15 PSs for Boma so I decided to let DH sleep a little longer while I hopped over to Maestro Mickey’s to do a little more poking around there. I picked up the items I had sent back to the room—including the Cinderella/Prince Charming opalescent wedding figurine.

I just love that thing. Even now being home, I still love it—its allure didn’t diminish on the flight back, and it looks great right where I thought it would. At the store I thought about buying the Belle “I’m with the Beast” t-shirt, but recalled Wally saying that he didn’t want me wearing it. So that was that.
When I returned I was happy to see Wally already up, showered, and ready to start the day. It was St. Patrick’s Day! What did this Irish Gal wear? A red top, of course!

Well, at least it wasn’t orange (this was such a big holiday at my school growing up that it was a celebrated Dress Up Day for those who partook in the Irish Jig competition [not to brag, but uh…two-time winner here *breathe on nails*brush nails on lapel*arch eyebrow*place upper lip inside bottom lip while looking to the left*] and kids who showed up wearing orange were sent home to change—it was a parochial school, what can I say.) I didn’t come prepared to properly celebrate the patron saint of Ireland’s big day

but I did have a special fondness for the Adventures of Snow White t-shirt I bought outside SWSA, so I decided it was festivus enough.
We made it onto the bus by 9:15 and were excited by the mere anticipation of a comparatively shorter bus ride to the AKL. It wasn’t as short as I thought it would have been, but I got a chance to fiddle with the watch I bought at Epcot and changed the plaquette face from Cinderella’s image to Belle’s. The rest of the time I used to get excited about our upcoming meal and our upcoming day. I hadn’t told Wally much of what I knew about the AKL, except that it was designed by the same guy who did the WL, but I for one was really excited to finally get to see it.
We of course were both extremely impressed with this resort's lobby. The scent alone was enough to make any AKL long-term guest ache for that same musky aroma for years to come, and I imagine it’s one heck of a warm welcoming to repeat stayers. We stepped into the gift shop and found umpteen million items we never saw again at any other shops. We’re both big animal fans, and I especially enjoy leopard print, so when I saw the fuzzy-mickey leopard print t-shirt I let out an “aw!” without even realizing it. DH was at my side when I saw it, and let it go out of my mind…I knew I should have bought it, but at the moment wasn’t justifying the expense. Yesterday (March 23) was my birthday, and can you guess what was one of my gifts? Yup, the fuzzy leopard shirt! I wore it to work today, it was just that perfect, fitted, “business casjh” quality that's acceptable at my work and I got lots of compliments. I’m just sad I can’t wear it again tomorrow! And the next day. And the next…
We made it to our Boma check-in and were seated on the spot. We got a nice table for 2 over by the windows and Wally was growing excited by the scenery, the scents, and the visible kitchen staff--he’s always analyzing restaurants and was comforted by the staff’s relaxed and even pace and venerated them throughout the meal. Our server came by and congratulated us on our Wedded Bliss and brought some of that AWESOME, OH MY GOSH, KILLER juice that they serve and sent us on our merry buffet way.
At Boma Breakfast
I mentioned before that DH loves culture…he loves any culture that “swings” (no, not in the key-party way—-but in the
soul way…) and he really dug this restaurant. He’s also into spicy, interesting foods and NO ONIONS, and this buffet delivered. My breakfast palate preferred the Crystal Palace buffet, but I was happy that he was happy. He also announced that “the next time we come back to WDW” (

) we’d have to visit this restaurant for dinner…which I hear is really something special for vegetarians and you blood-thirsty carnivores alike

. I’m
always up for a buffet, so it sounded like a plan to me.
We were dine-dine-dining along when our server came by to hand us a little envelope with “Congratulations” handwritten across the front. She said it was something “from us” for the honeymoon couple. I opened up the envelope and found a lovely card congratulating us for our special occasion, and it was signed by all the CMs of Boma along with their nations of origin!

Wow, what a nice treat! I heart Bride Ears! DH took some time reading each and every entry. I on the other hand was so touched that I couldn’t even focus. I can’t say it enough—WDW treats its honeymooners so well, that there were times that I was humbled by the effort. However, I managed to compose myself enough to finish up my second round and we settled up the bill and got ready for the rest of our big day.
