We became DVC members on our last trip last month and worked out the initial outlay would pay for itself in just three trips.

As well as that, we'll save money on what we spend at the parks, as we'll be able to have breakfast in our room, rather than buying it in (that was at least $5 a day for the two of us) and if we want, we can have dinner there of an evening. Staying at an ordinary Disney hotel, you've got no way of cooking. At least even the studios (certainly this is the case at the BCV, our home resort) have microwaves.

Another advantage for us non-Americans is the freephone number you can use to make your PS for meals. We had to pay previously for an international call each time we phoned Disney to make our PS for this last vacation.

I would recommend the DVC to anyone who loves Disney and goes on a regular basis, at least once every two years. It's a lot of money upfront, but it will pay for itself over time.
