Re: Question related to Trip Report I read

Yes - I'm also curious about this. When we stayed in the CR in 2002, we had booked a garden wing room. I had called to check on availability in the North Wing - since I knew that the Shades of Green had booked in there. The CM assured me that although the SOG had most of the North Wing - the exact corridor of rooms that I had requested was NOT Shades of Green, and that she would mark on our reservation that we were to be assigned to this building.

When we checked in - I was very unhappy to be assigned to the South Wing - way down by the Lake - about as far as possible to be from the main building! What's worse - it was a smoking room. The reason we had requested the room we did is because of its' easy access to the main building, and the fact that the North Wing is totally non-smoking. DH was under treatment at the time for severe asthma - pneumonia, and other chronic allergies (major hives). A smoking room was NOT going to work. I told the CM checking us in about the conversation I had with the other CM, and was told that the previous guest in the room we were originally assigned had decided to stay on - and there was nothing they could do about it. I then asked how much an upgrade to the Tower would cost - but he wouldn't even check on it - just gave us new keys to a different non-smoking South Wing room - GRRRR! That was the trip where Sarah was sick with the tummy flu, and we just wanted to get into a room, any room, so we didn't argue any more!
