| Re: \"Beat the Heat\" Tips On really sun-bright days, a light-colored long-sleeved shirt of a very thin material, such as a cotton gauze, can actually be cooler than bare arms. You can also dampen the shirtsleeves a bit for an extra 'cool' without having mist all around. (I'm another one who *really* doesn't like misters.) Be careful to use sunblock under the shirt, though, because very thin material will not block the UV rays.
When we're going to be there in the hotter seasons, we also plan our days around where the AC is - alternating riding/doing something that's out in the heat with something that's inside.
Overall, though, the best way to beat the heat is to schedule your trip in November/December, or in February/March!
