We went in June with our 2 1/2 year old and a 5 year old and we could not have gotten by without a stroller.

My recommendations would be (based on our experience):
1) A double that is front to back vs side by side
2) Some sort of cover -- we used a $1 poncho we found on the outside. It worked great to keep the stroller dry and to keep any items we had dry
3) Find a stroller where both seats recline
4) Another nice feature, particularly if you have bigger kids, is to find a stroller where the front bar comes off. This made it easier to get in and out and gave my older one more room.
