Re: Question for the U.K.ers!

Since we leave for Paris & London in 10 days, I've added the local weather to my Netscape home page. High temps seem to be hovering around 50 degrees, but you never know when you'll get an unusually warm day. We were visiting London the last weekend in March last year and had to buy tee shirts because it was 65-70 the entire time we were there.

Enjoy your trip...you'll love it!

Question for the U.K.ers!

So what is the weather like at the end of March. I have been watching the weather channel and sounds like it's been in the 40's & 50's lately. Am I correct? Just starting to get my luggage ready and plan my clothing for the trip. I only am taking 1 piece of luggage so I have to make it count. THanks!!

Re: Question for the U.K.ers!

Hello

The weather currently here in London is around 45 degrees. The last couple of days have been very cold and today is windy, with rain this afternoon.

I suggest bringing a jumper and rain jacket, you can never judge the weather in London. We quite often have all four seasons in one day!!!!!

Re: Question for the U.K.ers!

Teresa--
Is 45 degrees the high temperature?....what is the overnight low?

"Jumper" is a british term that I've heard before, but for the life of me, can't remember what it means in 'American'. Can someone translate ? Is that a coat of some sort or an umbrella?

Re: Question for the U.K.ers!

Hello
Your post made me laugh as when I was a nanny in Canada I used to have these sort of conversations with the 4 year old I looked after. A jumper is a sweater which will be very useful. A good way to dress in the U.K. is in layers which you can pull on and off as the weather changes which it does. I live in the North of England and it is cool and very windy at present but the daffodils are out and the days are getting longer so I would imagine the climate is warmer by a few degrees down in London. In the paper the weather on Wednesday 13th of March in London was rainy and 5C (43F)
Have a good vacation (holiday) and watch out for the potatoe/tomatoe jokes!

Re: Question for the U.K.ers!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the weather update. Sounds like it's no better than home right now. I was hoping for a bit of warmer weather ( I have no clue why I thought it would be warmer in the UK-don't ask) But I can deal with rain and wind...I have no choice.
One more question for those of you who have traveled overseas. We are flying British Midland. Anybody fly them? What is the service like? I am getting a bit apprehensive about flying now. I usually feel this way right before I board a plane, but for some reason am getting that nervous/excited feeling way early. I really appreciate the info you all have shared! Thanks again! Only 4 days and 10 hours til I am on my way to the airport. Whoohoo!
