| London Eye Just thought I would mention if anyone considered visiting the "London Eye" when they visit London (I think the web address is www.londoneye.com) DH, DS's and I did this a couple of weeks ago for the first time and it was really good. Luckily we had clear a clear sky and we had good views right across London. We really enjoyed it and one of my son's (twins) wanted to do it again , but the other was a bit nervous!!!, so we went of to TGI Friday's for lunch in Covent Garden instead. | Re: London Eye Thanks Teresa-- We probably will try to do this in April. Most of what I read says we should buy tickets a few days beforehand...do you think this is necessary? Is that just for the summer crowds, do you think? I'd kind of like to pick a day once I know what that day's weather is like. -HiddenMickey |

| Re: London Eye Hello When we visited the London Eye, we had pre-booked tickets through Air Miles. The only thing about having pre-booked tickets is that you would probably have to use them regardless of the weather. On the other hand, if you just turned up on the day, at least you would know what the weather would be like (they do sometimes close the ride if it gets windy), but you could get there and they might not have tickets for that day - I can't reaaly offer you much advise about that - sorry. |

| Re: London Eye Thank Teresa! I am looking so forward to doing this. It seems like something you just have to do if you're visiting or you will regret not doing so. Now for someone who is a bit afraid of heights, will this scare them? Are the capsules (I don't know what to call them) clear glass from ceiling to floor? |

| Re: London Eye Hi Denise, Yes, they are called capsules or pods (which ever you prefer), and they are basically all glass from top to bottom. In case someone is a bit nervous of heights, there is a seating area in the middle of the pods - my son stayed seated for quite a while and then slowly adventured to the glass, but if you stood near the seating area, you should still have good views. Oh, and don't forget to "smile for the camera" on your way back down! Have fun and be sure to let us know what you think when you return. Take care and enjoy your visit to London. |
