EXTREME Rides! Wow - first I found out Cedar Point is adding a "Wicked" ride. Now I see that Knotts Berry Farm in California is adding a launched 200+ foot coaster called "Xcelerator". Check it out and who wants to ride with me?!? Boy, this looks intense! [ 04-30-2002, 11:15 PM: Message edited by: Dadtojbj ]

Re: EXTREME Rides! Debbie and Michelle - have ya'll ever heard of ACE (American Coasters Enthusiasts)? I've been a memeber since I was kid and I've probably been on at least 200+ coasters, if not more. I'm a fanatic - and I got my love of coasters from my first ride on the Matterhorn back in 1975 when I was only 7!! There is no such thing as too tall, too fast, too loopy for me! Bring it on! Fun to know you all are in the same school as me!

Re: EXTREME Rides! I haven't found one yet I wouldn't ride, and only one I wouldn't ride again...that being the Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere in Las Vegas. I LOVE those coasters, and would not hesitate to jump in line!

Re: EXTREME Rides! Steve, Yep! I have heard of ACE -- I am not a member, but I could easily sign up to be one! 200+ coasters?! WOW! So, besides Cedar Point, where are some of the other locales that you would say have the best coasters? I have only been to Kings Island (Cinci, OH), Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH), Six Flags (Aurora, OH), Carowinds (Charlotte, NC), Kennywood (Pittsburgh, PA), Universal Studios (Orlando, FL), and of course... WDW. Out of my "travels," Cedar Point is the tops for coasters. Michelle

Re: EXTREME Rides! Eeek! I'm with Bethmn on this one. We can just find a nice, stable, bolted-to-the-ground bench to sit on, and watch you crazy folks attempt to ride that thing AND keep your lunch down. Actually, I used to LOOOVE coasters, but now I get motion sick.. (Ever since I had my daughter- I believe this may be God's way of telling me to pick a slower ride now that I'm a mother. ) I AM going to the local amusement park in a few weeks, to see if over-the-counter medication will be enough to calm my stomach down. If not, I'll need to go see my doctor for prescription meds. before our trip in November.. I refuse to miss RnR! Alicia

Re: EXTREME Rides! Debbie - you really get a lot - a quarterly newsletter, a quarterly color magazine publication and access to a lot of other things such as park discounts, exclusive park priviledges (first daily ride on the Beast or Son of Beast at Kings Island, for instance), as well as tons of other perks (I've been invited to most of the new coaster premeires for Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens Virginia over the past 20 years). Tons more - feel free to ask questions.

Re: EXTREME Rides! Wow!! I didn't realize you got invitation for coaster debuts! That would be just awesome. I'll have to look more closely at ACE. Steve: speaking of coasters, I'm going to Carowinds next weekend. I'll ride TOP GUN a few times for ya
