Re: More help needed on Washington DC

Just returned from a long weekend in DC. (4/26-29). We stayed at the Embassy Suites in the Chevy Chase Pavillion and we loved it!!!! The hotel is in a mall. (The Chevy Chase Pavillion) A complimentary breakfast that was wonderful...made to order along with a fabulous buffet. In the evening they had a Manager's Reception with free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks which was also included. The rooms were very big with a wetbar, micro, fridge, in-room movies, video games, iron, hairdryer etc. There was an indoor pool and fitness center. AND the Metro is right under the hotel!!!!! We parked our car Friday AM and didn't see it again until Monday. Parking was 15.00 a day in a garage under the building. Chevy Case is a beautiful area. A lot of great resturants and stores. Feel free to e-mail me with further questions ourcape@optonline.net

Re: More help needed on Washington DC

I've been trying Expedia, Travelocity and the Embassy Suites web site. Same price at all three right now.

Re: More help needed on Washington DC

Did you try orbitz.com?
Also, after a discussion with my friend she said she stayed in the L'Enfant (sp?) Plaza Hotel. The metro was under her hotel as well. This one is right near the mall however....not in Chevy Chase. Maybe check that out. If I find out more info on it I will post again.

Re: More help needed on Washington DC

Me again....I found it. It is called Loews L'Enfant Plaza Hotel. It looks like it is very nice and it is one of the hotels on special at Expedia right now. Sounds like it is worth checking out. She said it was a great place.

Re: More help needed on Washington DC

If you want to find out what's near a Metro stop, go to http://www.wmata.com/ and click on Metrorail. Click on a station you are interested in, and near the bottom of the station's page is a link to a neighborhood map of the station. Hotels are clearly marked on the maps.

It looks like the EMBASSY SUITES CRYSTAL CITY is a couple of blocks from the Pentagon City Metro station. Pentagon City is a nice mall, also (Macy's, Nordstrom, etc.).

Re: More help needed on Washington DC

Loew's L'enfant plaza will put you right in the middle of the main tourist atreas. A stones throw from the Smithsonian museums, as well as the Department of Enregy, Department of Agriculture, The Holocaust museum, the Smithsonian as well as the L'enfant Plaza metro stops. you would also be withing walking distance of the Washintong monument and the Jefferson memorial.

I live near DC, and I commute there to work every day. If you need any help, I would be glad to advise you.
