Cruising!

Other than the Disney Cruise, have you been on a memorable Cruise that you can share some memories about? What lines have you been on and would you recommend them? Tell us all about it!

Re: Cruising!

My husband and I have been on Princess cruises several times. We love the new,"grand class" ships. Most of the lines ships are new within the past 8 years, have modern conveniences, have lots of people, but still have many intimate gathering areas so you never feel that you are dodging people all the time. The line now offers "Personal Choice Cruising" so that you are not tied down to a 6:00 or 8:00 dinner each and every night. However, the downside to this is that you do not sit with the same people each night and probably will not have the same waiter each night. The food is great. The "shows" are always wonderful and we have always found the service to be fabulous. In fact, we are bookd on Princess this coming January! For those of you with children, their newest ships have great childrens programs and children's facilities. They are rated right up there with Disney.

Re: Cruising!

Can I add a question to this? Has anyone done any of the snorkeling stuff you always hear about on cruises? DH and I are getting a free 7-day Western Caribbean curise this November on the Norwegian Cruise Line (it's a work related benny). We've never done a cruise before let alone snorkeling. I tried to snorkel across the shark thing at Typhoon Lagoon many years ago, but just couldn't do it for fear of breathing in water at the wrong time. I really, REALLY want to snorkel in the wonderful blue water. DH saw a snorkel set in a magazine that claims that absolutely no water gets in the snorkel - I think that might be the solution to my problem, any ideas from anyone? Thanks! Re: Cruising!

Yes! We've snorkeled on both of our RCCL cruises and it's PHENOMENAL! The only way water gets into the snorkel is if you dive - yes, you can actually dive to shallow depths - but you just give a BIG blow when you surface to clear the water - kind of like a how a dolphin surfaces! Don't miss doing it! They'll give you a quick lesson and it's actually quite easy!!
