Re: Destination - Europe! Whew! Tall order! Whilst not the size of US, Europe has a lot more visible history, and background than US, which is a comparatively very young country. Hence each country is very different, with different languages and customs. Even parts of the same country can be extremely varied. Places to go? Practically every major city in each country! West to East - Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Paris, Amsterdam. Berlin, Oslo, Stockholm, Rome, Marseille, Madrid, Athens, Prague, Moscow... the list is endless. It also depends so much on what type of holiday you want. From old civilisations which set so much in place for our civilisation - Athens, Rome - to vibrant places of fun - Paris, Rome, etc. Whatever you do, whereever you go, I guarantee you'll find something to interest, excite and amaze you. That's what travel is all about! Chris

Re: Destination - Europe! Well I don't have much knowledge in this area and what I do have is not current, but I sure would like to go back. My husband and I have been to Europe three times. Once, on our honeymoon to Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. Then to London twice. I would love to go back there now that my kids are a little older. What a cool place. We saw a show every night, ate in pubs, and the city just has so much culture and history if you are into that sort of thing. Okay, I am rambling again. It is sooooooooo boring today at work. No new babies yet! Tara

Re: Destination - Europe! Okay, I'm too weeks behind. Paris of course and London-lots of history. Then I vote for Bruges in Belgium, Innsbruck in Austria, and my all-time favorites Saint Malo and Mont St. Michel in France. Also, Germany, Black Forest area, can't remember the name of the town (at least 14 years...) Tracy

Re: Destination - Europe! Europe has a lot to offer (inluding Disneyland Paris ) It is steeped in history - you can get a great mix of ancient and modern in london; Paris is great for Partying, Belgium has some tasty beers, Netherlands is wonderful in Spring (something about Tulips in Amsterdam?). Berlin has the joining of the East and West, Switzerland is just stunning (beautiful and pricy), Italy has Rome, Florence and Venice and some mad drivers and the Trevi Fountain. Norway has the Fjords, in Finland you go swimming in icy lakes and snow. The list goes on and on. Unless you plan on a life time you will not be able to see it all in one go (nor would I reccomend Europeans to try the same in the states )

Re: Destination - Europe! What's a must-see in Italy? Specifically, in Rome, Pompeii, and Capri (maybe Florence too). And, does anyone know what's in Siena? I'm planning a trip with my high-schoolers next summer but I haven't done the research yet-just picked a tour (France, the Riviera, and Rome). Tracy

| Re: Destination - Europe! Had another thought-I really enjoyed Windsor too. You have to see the dollhouse-it's amazing. I even bought a book about it. (Queen Mary's dollhouse, I think) And the gardens at Versailles and Chenonceau and... the list is never ending. The amount of history and the age of things are amazing to me-especially considering that around here century homes get plaques. Also, the Tower of London and the crown jewels..
